Hello dear reader, and welcome to my new webpage. This blog will be used to keep you up-to-date with everything going on, with books I’m reading, with life in general but not necessarily in that order.

So let me take you back a bit, to April 2019. My family and I were on holiday in Arran, Scotland. We live in Scotland but have friends who stay on Arran and we hadn’t visited them for a while. Whilst there, driving around the island, I felt inspired and on the ferry home I had planned and researched my first story.

Once home it flowed out of me and I wrote the whole story in one sitting. I have a friend who is currently studying her P.H.D. in creative writing and asked her if she would mind looking over it to give me any feedback, using that I was able to edit it to a point where I felt ready to send it to an editor.

Well I finally met my editor on Friday 13 December and I am currently making final edits and getting ready to write a cover email/letter to send to agencies. We’re going to try traditional publishing first but if that doesn’t work, then she’s going to walk me through self-publishing because “no matter what she wants to see this story in print!”

However, none of this would have happened really if it hadn’t have been for the fact that my sister paid for me to attend an evening class for creative writing last Christmas. It inspried me and encouraged me to write more often and I definitely feel this is an important element of why I write now.

So I am attending evening courses again, this time for fantasy writing but ALSO I will be studying part-time with the OU (Open University) to get my B.A. in Arts and Humanities with Creative Writing.

It’s an exciting time! Thanks for joining me on this journey.

Till next time dear readers,
